About

Rouken Glen Church is a welcoming Church of Scotland congregation, in the heart of the Southside of Glasgow.

Through our worship and activities we seek to share the gospel of Jesus Christ in our community. Everyone’s welcome, those who share our Christian faith and those who would like to learn more about Christ.

We are a church, so worship is at the centre of all we do. Come and join us on Sunday mornings at 11am in our Greenhill Avenue building to find out what we’re all about; we look forward to meeting you.New to church or unsure what to expect, check out our FAQ’s!

Frequently Asked Questions

We worship every Sunday morning at 11 am in our Greenhill Avenue building.

If you are driving, you can park along Greenhill Avenue or the surrounding streets. Reserved accessible parking spaces are also available in the church grounds for those who need them.

Our Sunday morning worship is traditional yet relaxed in style. We sing a mix of classic hymns and modern worship songs, with music led by organ and piano and all words projected on screen.

Services last around an hour, followed by tea, coffee, and informal chat in the church hall. We’d love for you to join us!

All ages are welcome!

Children start in the main sanctuary with their families for the beginning of the service. They then head to our halls for Sunday School, where they can play games, sing songs, and learn about Jesus in a fun, safe environment.

Visiting with children? They are more than welcome to join in with Sunday School, or you are welcome to keep them with you in the service. Whatever makes your family most comfortable.

Sunday School meets every second Sunday from September to June. To learn more, speak to the minister after the service or contact us.

Absolutely not, come as you are!

Not at all! Our welcome team will greet you at the door when you arrive, but you are free to sit in whichever pew you feel most comfortable in.

We meet every Sunday of the year. There are also midweek services during Lent and Advent and very popular Christmas Eve and Christmas day services. We also hold a number of evening services during the year in both our buildings. Check the What’s On page to keep up to date as we develop the worship in our new congregation.

Yes. Our sanctuary is equipped with a hearing induction loop system to ensure everyone can participate fully.

If you use a hearing aid, simply switch it to the ‘T’ position when you arrive. Sound is also amplified through our main audio system, and all words for hymns and readings are projected on screens. If you need any assistance, our welcome team is always happy to help.

We provide large-print hymn books and large-print hymn sheets so you can follow along.

When you arrive, simply speak to one of our welcome team members at the door, they will gladly provide you with large-print materials and help you find a seat with good visibility or lighting.
